I am trying to type this up real quick, but MB is torturing me. He’s making dinner. It’s so hard to concentrate. The house smells glorious and it’s giving me a hunger headache. So anyway, here’s my outfit today. Let’s call it, “I’m black on the inside.”
Stripes and plaids should probably not be worn together, but I was really determined to wear my striped 3/4 sleeve shirt underneath. I wish you could feel the gauziness of this dress. It’s so soft and feminine, in a gothic kind of way. I’m not sure what else. I just felt a need to embrace my gloominess.
Oh, I know, one more thing from today. We wrapped up the marriage portion of our class at church and were getting feed back from the class about how we did. As one woman was politely telling us it was nice to have teachers that were “real” and not “sweet and polite,” Luna’s husband offered this gem:
“You inspire us through your mediocrity!”
It’s my new favorite quote. Worthy of vinyl or cross stitch.
Happy Sunday Friends!

Can I just say that I am freezing? I wish there were a place inside my house with more light, because this outside with no jacket thing is getting chilly. Well, I started with a jacket, but it’s not nearly warm enough. I can only say I am a fashion victim.

I don’t know what to say about this outfit. I’ve been entirely too distracted by the new class at church and making sure I don’t make a fool of myself. Though today kind of felt like “watch MB & AB crack inside jokes.” We need to find our groove. It was a bit bumpy and we need to smooth out the whole teaching as a pair thing. But overall, it’s kinda fun to be doing something with MB without the kids interrupting our every syllable. Oh wait, I thought of something about this outfit – the length of the dress and the tall boots do nothing for me. It makes me look kind of squat and I’m above average height, so that’s not a good thing.

MB tried to sneak shots of me today. He only got one before I noticed him dodging around in the shadows. Here I am, adjusting my scarf – how scandalous! Incidentally, I lost the scarf by the time I sat down in my pew. It felt like 100º inside the church today. Must be all of my sins or something. Speaking of, I think I offended somebody (totally by accident) today. I feel like I should wear a big sign on myself that reads: Prone to sudden outbursts of randomness, but mostly harmless. (It’s just too many words for one sign though.) So most of what I’m wearing is new, which is unusual for me. The pleated skirt and the zipper sweater were on mega sale at Gap (cheaper than what they have online right now), so I figured I could do something with them. Leggings from H&M, Christmas boots again, and my giant purple hoops. Oh, and the purple cowl, but that didn’t really end up being part of the deal. We’re back to afternoon church (1-4) and I have lots of really nice things to say about that time slot. No, really. I do. Happy Sunday friends.

I call it “Seasonally Fierce.” Is it weird that I title my outfits? Ah, I don’t care. You must know that the dress underneath is so old I can’t remember when I bought it. It’s Liz Claiborne, which hasn’t been a name thrown around in recent years. It also has shoulder pads. I think I remember wearing it before I met MB, so it’s at least 16 years old. I don’t know that I would wear it on its own. And these boots are my Christmas gift from MB. I wanted a feminine combat boot kind of thing, but I think I still might need a pair of these or these. I’m not digging the belt in this picture – I don’t think it’s actually that light, but I really wanted a red belt. I only have a skinny one and that didn’t work.
Happy Sunday friends.
PS – I love tartan.

Smirky McSmirkster made a visit to Magic Hands
It’s about to get cold. Well, it is already kinda cold. Goodbye purple peep-toes, this was your last call. You can’t tell from this picture, but my leggings are shiny. I got them so I could put together some sort of Matrix/Apocalypse outfit. I don’t have that outfit yet, but I’m working on it. The dress is still available at Shabby Apple; though I will say that I’m annoyed that after I washed it the first time, the dress shrank, but not the lining. So it looks like I have a slip hanging out all the time. Will have to fix that.
I had no choice but to wear purple today. The new hair color is a purple magnet. We were going for grey with my hair, but I think it’s probably more like an ashy platinum. I’m thinking next go round we can get it more of the charcoal looking base. Hopefully next time MH will allow me some other colors – she didn’t like my hot pink stripe idea. Too short, she said. Come on, it’s thiiisss close to being a pixie. It’s a micro pixie.
I know I’m getting at least one other Sunday Threads submission today, so check back later.
P.S. – Isn’t it about time for me to get rid of the pumpkins????

Brooklyn Girl
scarf- random store in Brooklyn, shirt- Gap (got as a gift Christmas 1996), skirt- Target clearance this summer, tights- Steve Madden they’re purple but it’s hard to see with the lighting, bought at Famous footwear (they were $2 and a second pair was only $1)
I like that she mixed the purple tights with the blue scarf. Color!

Yes, Magic Hands, I am hiding my hair from you.
But don’t you want to meet my favorite boots? 4 yrs old and I still love ‘em. They are actually my most comfortable pair of boots.

It’s the one day of the week I get dressed. I like creating the outfits, but I don’t like to wear it more than once. This will be my visual record, so I don’t have to recreate conversations or places in my head to jog my memory about what I wore last week. I’ve got the last 2 weeks so we’ll start with those.
